The program helped me to hone my JS skills in ways that my previous education never covered.
At the same time, it gave me a soft intro to how to collaborate with a team and complete projects on a deadline.
I would not have been able to secure a job at Google without this valuable period of mentorship.
Here are a few of the benefits of joining the This Dot apprentice program:
Real-world development experience and practical knowledge. Put what you learned in bootcamp into practice. There’s no substitute for experience.
A full time mentor to help you troubleshoot any problems you encounter along the way.
Direct-to-hire opportunities: Companies work with us to help them build a more diverse pipeline for direct hires. Get hired directly after you complete the apprenticeship.
Learn how to work within a dev team, how project management works at a high level, and the soft skills your bootcamp didn't teach you.
Yes, this is a job like what you’d complete for any other client. You will be working for This Dot and contracting out to one of our partner companies.
No, we expect you to have finished a bootcamp already. This is your first foray into the real tech world.
You will be doing a variety of work depending on your experience and the company’s needs.
You will work hard and learn as much as you can, behave in a professional manner, and grow your abilities in order to contribute to your team.
You will be paired with a senior developer mentor, who will be there alongside you every step of the way.
There is a rolling admission process. Apply whenever you’re ready to launch your future!
We will offer you a living wage. All apprentices will be paid equally.
Send your cover letter and resume to email@example.com to get started.
We will review the applications and send promising applicants a questionnaire about their skill sets and goals. Then, there will be an initial interview. After that, candidates will take on a coding project to determine their level of proficiency. The next step is a final interview. Finally, we will pair you with a company and a mentor, and you’ll be ready to start!
Most importantly, we are looking for hardworking, ambitious women. Ideal candidates have graduated from a coding bootcamp, have a college degree in hand, and are interested in increasing their practical knowledge of programming. The best candidates will demonstrate how they could benefit from placement with a company and the help of a mentor to identify and fill the gaps in their knowledge.
